Set contains 11 Hi-Res Photoshop Collage Templates suitable for printing as well as web display. Rotate the Templates 90˚CW, 90˚CCW or 180 Degrees to end up with 29 different Template Layouts (See layout variations below with and without frame). MW Photoshop Watercolor Painter - Pro Series

Custom Photoshop Textures : Custom Photoshop Textures are High-Res, Seamless Textures that are used with Photoshop and PaintShopPro’s Texturizer Filter. Textures can be used to add texture to grunge backgrounds, add paper texture to mats and sketch backgrounds, add brush textures or a cracked aged look to paintings.

To use the Texturizer Filter in Photoshop, go to Filter>Texture>Texturizer. The default Textures in Photoshop are Brick, Burlap, Canvas and Sandstone. There is a fly-out button on the right side of the Texture menu that allows you to load your own Custom Textures. Simply navigate to the folder of Custom Textures and choose the one that works best with your image. The Texturizer Filter allows you to adjust the size of your Texture between 50-200%, adjust the contrast and adjust the direction of the Light Source. It also has an option to invert the image from positive to reverse. I suggest always starting with 50%, 2 Relief with Light coming from the Top Left. Increase size and Relief to taste. Click Invert to see if it looks better to you in that mode. You can use Fade to lessen the effect and/or change the Blending Mode settings for extra effects. This is what makes the Texturizer Filter more versatile than pasting textured images over your images. These textures can be loaded at any time when in the Texture Filter interface and work great with several of my Framing, Illustration and Sketch Actions that utilize textures in the workflow. These Custom textures can also be used with the Conte Crayon, Rough Pastels, Under Painting and Glass Filters.

Richard Avedon was a well known photographer in the 60’s. He experimented with wild color schemes and created some very well know portraits of the Beatles during the hippie era, when psychedelic
posters were at their peak popularity. The Action utilizes extreme curve configurations and various layers of different channels
to create 16 different images to choose from. This shot gun method makes it easy to pick the images that happen to work the best based on the colors in the original image. Some Tips:

At the end of the action, turn off all layers and adjust from the bottom up.

You may use levels to add more detail by moving the sliders to the right, but lower the contrast of the sketch layer using layer opacity from black to gray.

Finisher actions at the end:
One adds texture overall, and the other adds texture only to the image and not the background/paper.

The most critical part of the action is the cutout fade. I usually go up to fade-80%, but sometimes I lower it to 40% if the detail disappears.

The Hue/Sat seems critical too. The difference between 50% and 55% is huge. Sometimes going 56% loses detail.

Moving the Hue slider slightly to the right can bring out detail never seen before by adding contrast to the reds, adding subtle oranges and yellows to the lighter red areas.
If there is undesired detail in the black line layer, paint in the mask box with a low opacity black brush to soften the harsh lines (or remove completely with 100% bllack).

The very first stop that fades the diffusion determines the amount of detail or smoothness of the black lines when find edges runs. Move the slider to 100% for a softer look, or down to below 50% for sharper detail in the black lines.

I usually reduce Layer 2 / Overlay to around 15-20%

Layer 3 / Pin light is optional to add the black background back on.
You may want to keep the black shadows in the detail but not the background. Just add a mask and paint out the background.

After running the blur/texture action at the end, copy/paste the original color image back on top then set around 10-30% Linear Light, Linear Burn or Color Burn to add back some color and contrast.
