Here are some creative ways to use the Polaroid Collage Action.
Instead of starting with one big image 9" X 9", you can open a 9" X 9" X 300 ppi canvas, set your grid to 1.500", then bring in 36 1.500" X 1.500" images.
Flatten then run the action. You will end up with 36 different Polaroid pictures.

Once you get this concept, then go the next step, mix up the composition with anything that is incremental of 1.500", like 3" X 3", 3" X 6", 1.500" X 4.500", 4.500" X 4.500" and so on. Layout your images any way you want, provided it snaps to the grid.

At the end of the action, go back in history a couple of steps before the layers were merged, then you can move and rotate the polaroid pics around for a more hand done look.
Transform, move rotate, etc.

Here are some layout suggestions, the number in the lower right corner indicates the number of images used in the template.
